MBF Announces Opening of Fall 2014 Grant Cycle

Grants will be awarded to organizations that provide free legal and law-related human services

Norristown, PA (September 19, 2014) – The Montgomery Bar Foundation (MBF) is pleased to announce the opening of its Fall 2014 Grant Cycle.   The MBF is accepting Grant Applications through Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from organizations located in Montgomery County that provide pro bono legal representation, advocacy and counseling to victims of crime, abuse, poverty, neglect and discrimination to County residents.

Montgomery Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Montgomery Bar Association.  According to MBF President Steven H. Lupin, “Montgomery Bar Foundation is one of the few remaining sources of funding for organizations that provide free legal representation and services to local residents faced with poverty, abuse, neglect and discrimination.  As public funding for these vital services continues to dwindle, members of our legal community, community partners and justice-minded residents are encouraged to support the Foundation so that we can continue to help fill the gap.” Grant funding is made possible through the generous support of the Montgomery Bar Foundation’s Fellows and others who support the cause of justice in our community. Last year alone the Montgomery Bar Foundation awarded over $60,000 in Grants to local justice-related causes.

A 2014 Grant Application Packet and additional information is now available on the GRANTS section of the Bar Foundation’s website.  Unsolicited proposals and/or incomplete Grant Applications will not be accepted.  Applications are due by Tuesday, October 21, 2014 and Grants will be announced and awarded in December.
